That is because of the “fact” that they have a large collection of shit songs (I would say more than half) that people regard as brilliant (i.e. the classics Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and Yellow Submarine albums). I realize they have an extensive career and not everything can be great, but at least Springsteen fans can acknowledge that the Tunnel of Love and Human Touch albums were crap…well, at least the respectable ones can. So you see…they are in fact overrated.
